HIV Prophylaxis Fund
INCASA has established the HIV Prophylaxis Fund for Victims of Sexual Violence. This fund will allow hospitals to purchase the medication needed for adult and child patients presenting as victims of sex crimes determined to be at-risk for exposure to HIV/AIDS. Currently the state compensation program does not cover this medication as part of the violent or sex crimes compensation programs through VOCA. INCASA believes that victims and their families should not have to face the financial burden of this medication, which costs on average $3,000.
